Dear Peter

We've got the 600x800 VisuaStim Digital goggles (I'm not sure whether the
1024x768 version is available yet). I haven't tried them out on anyone else
yet, but when I wore them in our Siemens Trio head coil (not sure of the
model) they just touched the top. They didn't fit snugly to my face,
either, and my nose hurt quite a lot by the end. Mind you, I have a long,
narrowish head so I don't think there'd be the same problem with everyone.

We have a little trouble getting them to sync with our graphics card
sometimes, but it's always been fairly easy to sort out (switching things
off and on again). The image they produce is OK, but when the fMRI's going
there are faint wobbly moving lines on the screen. Haven't tried them in
stereoscopic mode. The visual angle you get is a little disappointing -
about 30 degrees, I think.

Hope that helps. If there's anything else you want to know, please fire
away and I'll see what I can do.

Subject: [SPM] Visual stimulation in fMRI?

Dear Spinlanders,

What is your experience with MR-video glasses such as Resonance
Technologies newest model 'VisuaStim Digital' (http://
www.mrivideo.com/product/fmri/vsd.htm), and their use in parallel
imaging head coils (SENSE)? For fMRI.

And also other alternatives such as NNL (http://
www.nordicneurolab.com/products.php?pid=1).

Respond off-line if you wish.

73, Peter
