JOB VACANCY AT THE OXFORD TRUST
The Oxford Trust is seeking to appoint a new Science Projects Officer, primarily to help deliver and develop our outreach programme of shows and workshops to primary and secondary schools in Oxfordshire.
The Oxford Trust is an independent charitable foundation at the heart of Oxfordshire’s science, education and enterprise networks. We run a cultural centre for science called Science Oxford where we are trying out new ways of engaging the public. We are
also the SETPOINT for Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire (MKOB) and as such, are the first point of contact for schools in the area for information about schemes and resources that support the teaching of science, technology, engineering and maths
(STEM).
We are looking for someone to enthuse and motivate pupils and enhance their learning in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) by delivering activities in schools. This person will also be a point of contact and source of information and advice
for schools as part of The Oxford Trust’s role as the local SETPOINT. They need to be educated to at least ‘A’ level in science (degree preferred but not essential), with prior experience of both science communication and working with young people.
This is a full time appointment, for a fixed term of 2 years in the first instance, with a salary of £18-20K p.a. A car and full clean driving licence are essential to fulfil the role, as it will involve travelling to deliver activity in schools.
