you can try "Full Catastrophe Living". Jon Kabat- Zinn

I feel comfortable recommending it because of the level of research etc behind it.

He developed a technique based on mindfulness meditation (moment to moment awareness) that allows people better control and understanding over their own health and well being and he has had undertaken clinical trials with postive results; a fairly recent paper (Davidson, Kabat-Zinn, et al. Psychosomatic Medicine 65: 564-570 (2003) ) shows positive changes in brain activity e.g. emotional processing under stress. This was a randomised trial in a corporate work setting.

Its recommended reading for pain management specialists and mindfulness is becoming a recognised treatment option for chronic fatigue in the UK now.

Kabat-Zinn is the founder and former Executive Director of the Centre for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is also the founder and former director of its renowned Stress Reduction Clinic and Professor of Medicine emeritus at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

The book itself is well thought out and easy to read (despite being a bit of a tome) - I normally recommend that people should order through their libraries in the first instance. CD's are also available as a further support option.

I've recommended it to a number of people with positive results. Its an interesting take on long term health issues.

Kind regards
Becky
