Wow lots to look at!

Do you need to refer to DVLA driving guidelines?
May have been covered with him post heart attack
www.dvla.gov.uk/medical/ataglance.aspx

Do you have a lone worker policy? H&S at W 1974 Act does make provision
for lone workers and the Management of H&S Regs 1999 would also cover
lone workers to ensure suitable risk assessment undertaken
Is it worth considering temporary redeployment to work with others when
he first returns?
NHS has useful lone worker policy to refer to:
www.cfsms.nhs.uk/doc/lone.worker/not.alone.pdf

Some tasks may need to be avoided initially on return - you mention the
dangerous equipment. Perhaps this could be avoided until he has
successfully coped with the initial return and encountered no problems

Obviously worth checking out what info he has been given and if any GP/
Consultant reports may assist your planning his rehab/ return the
workarea.

Hope this is helpful

Hi All,

Happy New Year to you!

I have a client who is due to return to work next week following a
period of absence due to a heart attack. He is an outdoor worker,
drives a small vehicle around the site, lone worker during the day and
handles some dangerous equipment.

Any advice greatfully accepted so I don't miss anything.

Thanks,

Sue.
