The Paul-Scherrer-Institut, in collaboration with the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, is offering a two-year position as

Postdoctoral Fellow

in Theory and simulations of X-ray spectroscopy of ultrafast processes in liquids

Your tasks

The Post Doctoral fellow will study light-induced electronic and structural changes in molecules, using DFT, TD DFT and QMMM methods, and will apply them to simulate time-dependent X-ray spectra and scattering patterns using available packages.

Your profile

You have a PhD in theoretical physics, chemical physics or physical chemistry. Experience in ab initio calculations of molecular systems is required. You are able to program and run parallel codes. An understanding of solvation dynamics is highly desirable. You are completing your application profile in being an enthusiastic researcher, and a good team player, and having excellent communication skills in English and possibly also French.

We are offering a two year appointment starting as soon as possible.

The place of work will be the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.
