medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture I've hesitated to type a word because you've gotten so many good responses. But all this church-as-heavenly-Jerusalem just screamed "Suger" to me. So I dogpiled "suger heavenly jerusalem saint-Denis" and found a pile (pardon the pun) of stuff.
