medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture


Thanks, John. I did wonder.... 
 
Which leads me to ask an awkward question: does anyone know of any primary sources at all in which medieval churches are emphatically described as evocations of/images of the Heavenly Jerusalem? 
 
I don't doubt that images such as those in Revelations are in the 'imaginative soup' that helped create the medieval great churches (and your brief quote sent yesterday helps confirm this)... but it would be nice to be able to say something a *little* firmer than that... and perhaps some of you doubt even this vague statement?
