Greater Manchester Libraries consortium are running 2 SCOOP TRAINING SEMINARS on Monday 25th Feb at Manchester Central Library.

 

The course will cover How our Laws are made in the morning, This seminar is intended for professionals and para-professionals who wish to learn more about UK legislation. It is intended to increase participants’ knowledge of this vital area and assumes no prior knowledge of the sources or processes. It provides a background to the law-making processes and the different legislative bodies within the UK.

And Official publishing on the web. This seminar is intended for professionals and para-professionals who wish to learn more about UK government Internet publishing. It is intended to increase participants’ knowledge of this vital area and assumes no prior knowledge of the sources or processes. It provides a background to the organisation of government publishing on the web and shows how the different bodies approach presentation and retrieval.

 

Registration and Tea/coffee 9.15 for a 9.45 start and aim to finish 4.15 to 4.30 with lunch included.

 

The price for the full day is £75 per delegate

Not wanting to sit on any fences [sitting here as i am on a fence in the midlands!], but there is so obviously a norf/sarf divide when it comes to course provision.

There are some great meeting venues north of Watford and on either side of the A1 so lets use them. Courses should automatically have a multi-venue system so that the maximum amount of folk can attend - providing they can scrape together the morale to do so!

 

It's the same with music too - the Birmingham Symphony Hall is without doubt the finest concert hall in the country and that's not darn the smoke!

Remember Henry VIII and the northern uprising of the Pilgrimage of Grace - we wouldn't want that sort of unrest to kick off again now would we??!!
