Dear Alice, I've used the JISC license to publish twice in the last year when asked to sign a "consent to publish" copyright transfer agreement. Both times it was for a poster summary published as proceedings in a conference - ECDL 2007 and DCC 2007. Both times it was a Springer publication, Lecture Notes in Computer Science. Neither time did they contact me at all.
