my impulse is these posts is – as regulars will perhaps
recognize – is to be conciliatory, to see how there is something to be
said for both contesting POVs . . . but here i find myself driven to attack
mode, for this post seems to me far more egregious than the one expressing connie’s
grief . . . connie at least was expressing an autentic response, however naïve we
may find it . . . but this post seems to me no different than the kind of
leering that typifies tabloid culture, which is about as inauthentic as can be
imagined . . . frankly why the hell why should i – why should anybody --
give a damn that ledger was obsessed with drake’s story? . . . real
innocence may make us uncomfortable, but it’s sure as hell better than
the circling of vultures

Subject: Re: Heath Ledger
the nick drake connection:
Ledger's affinity for English singer-songwriter Nick
Drake <http://www.nme.com/artists/nick-drake> , who died in 1974 of a drug
overdose at the age of 26, has also come to light.
In an interview last year at the Venice Film Festival,
Ledger said that he was "obsessed with (Drake's) story and his
music".
Ledger recently shot and edited a music video for the
Drake song 'Black Eyed Dog' in which Ledger is seen drowning himself in a
bathtub. It is also reportedly the last song Drake recorded before overdosing
on antidepression medication, reports MTV News.
