The Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) position in Political Geography to begin in August 2008.
 
The candidate should have a PhD and preferably at least one year’s teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level. We seek a faculty member who can contribute to cutting edge research and teaching in political geography. Preference will be given to candidates with research experience and expertise in the context of Asia. The candidate’s research and teaching activities should complement the Department’s existing area of excellence in “Political Economies of Regional Transformations in Asia” (http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/geog/research/pol_econ_intro.html).
 
In terms of teaching and academic responsibilities, the successful applicant will be expected to:
 
a.             Teach at least 2 modules a year at the undergraduate level in the fields of Political Geography and possible graduate modules in his/her own areas of expertise; and
b.             Contribute to the Department’s dynamic research activities
