Dear Colleague,

Guidelines for the performance of the sweat test for the investigation of cystic fibrosis in the UK were published in November 2003. It is now time for these guidelines to be reviewed and updated in light of any subsequent developments/research findings in the interim period. The Multi-Disciplinary working group that carried out this work is being re-constituted with some changes. As a result there is a need for a clinical biochemist working in a district general hospital, who has experience of sweat testing in that environment, to join the group. It is envisaged that the number of meetings will be limited to very few (one or two) with most of the work being done by e-mail.

We would welcome any expressions of interest from individuals who would like to participate in this review process.

With kind regards

Paul
