From: Mira Shiva [log in to unmask]

Bhopal Gas Tragedy 23 years on

Today is the 23rd Anniversary of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy . For many of us involved in the Medical Relief work ,Health Impact studies as MFC , as KEM-NRPC -VHAI , International Medical Commission etc  ,those involved in campaign for justice for Bhopal Gas victims  *The Gas victims have suffered from the Gas effects as well as
chemical s from Hazardous waste thrown unattended in the UCC campus
Exploitation in the name of Medicine .
Denial of proper compensation .
Denial of compensation to 2nd generation  afflicted with congenital malformation , because of Teratogenic effect by  poisoning by gas of the mothers & by mercury in water

Union Carbide has been bought by DOW CHEMICALS of US
DOW is the maker & seller of Agent Orange used in Vietnam
. & NAPALM
DOW has been penalized for withholding information about hazards of its chemicals on human health.
On this 23rd Anniversary of Bhopal Gas Tragedy many questions related to Victims right to Justice , We owe to those who were killed in Bhopal , those whose lives have been made years of pain ,suffering , where even their Right to breathe normally has been taken away , where even health of future generations is at stake .
The Govt of India cannot & should not absolve DOW  to be absolved of its resopnsibility to clean up the poisons in the water & soil of Bhopal , because of which the Bhopal Tragedy continues & only gets worse .
We join the Bhopal victims in their protest ..
