Come on Adrian don't be a wimp. You don't actually  have to lift the patient out of the chair!  Merely stretch his spine and ask him if it relieves his pain. There isn't an easy lab test for this.

we are talking about an adult (non midget i presume) male here - the treating doctor is likely to have a far worse back condition than the patient after this !
