Our Assistant Exams
Officer has emailed Andy Shilton and has had an email back. Whether he will
follow up our concerns I don’t know. Please see below for our email and his
response. Hope others will follow.

Hi
Carole
In fact – though it may
surprise you from the tone of your mail – this is the first sight of the
problem…
So if you don’t mind I
will ring you later to understand exactly what the problem is
…
Cheers
Andy

Subject: New
documentation
Hi
Andy
I’m sure your
‘inbox’ is bursting at it’s seams with complaints regarding the new system of
documentation carefully devised by C & G. My contribution I’m afraid
will be in the same vain as many others, I’m sure. The word ‘stupefying’
springs to mind, as to how you could have got is so wrong. My C & G
post now reaches me via our Finance department, a new route which results in a
couple of days delay. Upon opening a feeling of déjà vu overwhelms me as I
receive both old and new documentation of the same content in separate posts,
the lack of invoices and certificates is now causing some concern. The
order confirmation passes from the envelope somewhat fleetingly before my eyes
and into the bin (it does make me slightly nervous doing this) I do understand
there are ‘teething’ troubles with all new systems and that in the future we
will have to be print off if a hard copy if required but, I felt I should add my
voice to the many, in the hope that in the future, the administrators who have
to deal with these ‘prized’ ideas might be consulted beforehand!!
Yours sincerely

Hi everyone then we need
to tell someone at City & Guilds does anyone know Andy Shiltons email
address - we should let them know as they are the ones who instigated the
change
I will have a scout round and see if I can find an email
address for him
Thanks

Subject: City and Guilds
Is everyone happy with
City & Guilds new paperwork system ?
So far, I have
confirmation three times for around 20
schemes,
invoices duplicated three
times, generating at least 1/2 ream of paper
I cannot get them to
ensure the certificates come for the
Examinations officers
attention, (they always did up until now!)
and so I am worried that
they could be going to an unknown location
in the College, depending
on who deals with the post (I have informed
folk internally what is
happening).
And then suddenly the old
"nominal roll" re-appears confirming
registrations that I have
received on the new system, crazy or what
!??!!***
Comments please
??
