My apologies for being slightly off-topic, but this is something that is 
relevant to BUGS.  I've put up a blog post about the practical 
importance of focus in DIC.  It's something that gets mentioned in the 
literature, but I suspect has not been appreciated by a lot of users of 
BUGS and DIC (me included!)

If anyone can show in practice how to calculate the re-focussed DIC by 
simulation, I at least would appreciate it. I tried it yesterday, but 
was doing something wrong, so I guess I've mis-understood something.  Again.
