No it wasn't repeated before high speed centrafigutaion. We use SST yellow top tube with gel. But in most cases it was with other instruments than Dade (I should say Seimens) RxL. We had a case where the first Trop I was 0.6 ng/ml. The patient was hospitalised and the result repeated according to our protocol 6h later, the second result was 0.1 ng/ml. I received the call from the ER physician. I asked to centrifuge the first specimen at high speed. The result came down to 0.1 ng/ml. It's well known that the integrity of the specimen can affect the result. My question is : Should we centrifuge at high speed all the specimens for troponin I? (it,s not recommanded by the manufacturer).
