I'm trying to load a series of interview summaries into Nvivo (Create Document).  The interviews were done by three of us, written in Word and then saved into .rtf.   All sit in the same folder on my hard drive.

All of the documents created by one of the researchers have been accepted as NVivo documents.  All of the documents created by me have been rejected.  The documents created by my co-researcher, who used my original document as her basis, have also been rejected.  They can be uploaded if I convert them into plain text rather than RTF, but that makes them more difficult to read and analyse, so I really would like to sort out this problem.

The error message says:  "Document importation failed.  RTF statements in [folder name] could not be understood. Document could not be created."

My IT support people tell me that they cannot find any technical difference between the documents that will be accepted and those that won't be.

Any suggestions would be welcome, to avoid this problem happening again.
Thanks
