Dear colleague, The second international conference "Qualitative Research on Mental Health" (QRMH2) will be held in Tampere, Finland, 9th-11th June 2008. The main organisers are the Research Institute for Social Sciences, University of Tampere, and the Department of Social Policy and Social Work, University of Tampere. The purpose of this multidisciplinary conference is to provide a meeting forum for researchers who study individual experiences and sociocultural meanings related to mental health and mental health care through qualitative research methods. The first QRMH conference was held in Tampere in 2006. The conference attracted over 120 participants from three continents and 11 countries. The participants greatly appreciated the opportunity to exchange ideas across disciplinary boundaries with international colleagues. In the final discussion it was widely agreed that it is important to meet again. The keynote speakers of the Second QRMH conference are: Roberto Beneduce, Professor, University of Turin, Italy Ann Davis, Professor, University of Birmingham, U.K. Mikael Leiman, Professor, University of Joensuu, Finland David Pilgrim, Professor, University of Central Lancashire, U.K. Janet Stoppard, Professor, University of New Brunswick, Canada The deadline for abstract submission is January 31, 2008.
