This year's International Congress of Qualivative Inquiry conference (http://www.icqi.org/program.html) will include a pre-conference day entitled "Technology in Qualitative Research." This event should provide a good opportunity for people interested in the use of technology in qualitative research to explore the topic from a rather unique point of view. There is a call for papers for the Technology in Qualitative Research day at http://www.icqi.org/aditqr.html. I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight the Technology Showcase, which will be part of this pre-conference day. The Technolgy Showcase is designed "to allow qualitative researchers to learn about Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS) packages they are not familiar with or would like to learn more about. It is intended to allow presenters to meet researchers interested in exploring their software options." Qualitative software developers interested in participating in the Technology Showcase should submit a brief proposal following the instructions at http://www.icqi.org/aditqr.html. Qualititive software users interested in an opportunity to compare different packages are encouraged to attend the Technology in Qualitative Research day at the International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry conference.
