Thanks for this, Max. Although I enjoyed reading about
all the (other) film versions (esp. the Icelandic
one), I felt sorry for poor Dick Ringler, whose new
translation ("for oral delivery") was supposedly under
review. It merited only a paragraph of high praise at
the end, with no quotations extracted from his intro.
or text (aaargh). Nevertheless, this is definitely one
to buy!
