Dear colleagues You might find this one-day Symposium relevant as Many of the presenters come from art and design disciplines. 'Unspoken Interactions': exploring the role of emotions, interactions and embodied knowledge in practice-based subjects education A one-day Symposium - 10th December 2007 9am - Registration 5pm - Drinks and informal networking Venue University of the Arts London, London College of Fashion, 20 John Princes Street, London, W1G 0BJ Symposium Themes A mixture of paper, workshops and panel discussions around the following themes: · Social interactions in learning environments, particularly student-tutor interactions · The role of emotions in practice-based learning situations · Maximising effectiveness of affective learning – addressing the emotions as a positive motivator for learning · Engagement with the artefact in learning · Embodiment – tactility, movement, gesture and their role in learning · The role of the senses in practice-based learning Bookings £75 per delegate (including lunch) The online booking form is now available from http://www.arts.ac.uk/37007.htm We will then contact delegates shortly to book into their chosen sessions, as soon as the Symposium programme is finalised. The closing date for submissions for the special issue is December 14th 2007. Editors from other journals will also be present at the Symposium.
