The conference, hosted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design, is one of the highlighted events of the annual Business of Design Week (bodw) tailored for academics and design educators, design practitioners, marketing professionals, students and the general public, around the world. With this year's theme, "Sustaining Culture through Design Education", the conference will focus on preserving regional culture against shared practices and global economies through design education, and will cover the topics of teaching across cultures, cultural awareness for design students, curriculum development, and e-learning. Our world's famous keynote speakers include Sir Ken Robinson, a leader in the development of creativity, innovation and human resources, and Prof HK Chang, the Former President of the City University of Hong Kong who was the first to make Chinese cultural studies mandatory for students in sciences.
