The Deadline for submitting abstracts for individual papers and sessions for the the 3 Societies Meeting is 3rd December. This will be the sixth joint meeting of the British Society for the History of Science, the Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science, and the History of Science Society and will take place in Oxford, UK, on 4-6 July 2008. The theme of the meeting will be Connecting Disciplines. The Programme Committee seeks papers or sessions that reflect this broad theme and encourages participants to respond to the diverse meanings it has for historians of science, technology and medicine and their colleagues in the wider scholarly community. The Programme Committee welcomes proposals for sessions or individual papers from researchers of all nationalities at all stages of their careers. Participation is in no way limited to members of the three organising societies. Session proposals should normally consist of three or four papers, with or without a commentator. Sessions will be 90 minutes to 2 hours long. If you wish to depart from this rule or wish to submit a session of a different type, eg. round-table please discuss this with us in advance of the Call for Papers deadline. Proposals for individual papers should include an abstract of no more than 250 words with no footnotes and comprehensible to a non-specialist audience. Accommodation will be available within the college in high quality rooms with en-suite facilities and an inclusive conference package will be available.
