Information Officer (maternity cover up to 10 months from Feb 08)
Salary £24,201 per annum
This is a maternity cover post, based in Edinburgh, offering a varied portfolio of professional experience and development opportunities.
In this post you and another Information Officer will work closely together to provide ASH Scotland’s information services, reporting to the Director of Information & Communications. You will take a lead with ASH Scotland’s media monitoring and current awareness services and with undertaking research to support ASH Scotland’s communications and policy development work. Shared duties will include answering public information enquiries, conducting literature searches, maintaining the information service resources including cataloguing and classification, and marketing our information services to colleagues both within the organisation and externally.
You will be a qualified and experienced information professional, able to manage a range of tasks and meet tight time deadlines. A skilled communicator, you will be used to working collaboratively and understand the value of using accurate, referenced information to underpin the work of ASH Scotland.
Candidates should have a recognised Library or Information degree or diploma or significant relevant professional experience. Our ideal candidate will be motivated and organised, with a professional approach to work. In return we offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
