Dear GEMmers
Greetings from sunny Darlington!
I am in the process of developing a scheme of work about George Stephenson, with some help from local teachers. We would really like to include maps of Britain showing the development / spread of the railways at different times (eg: 1830/1880/1914), and also world maps showing the same thing. These would ideally be copyright free to download and include in my pdf pack of resources or be available on the web for teachers to go to and display on their whiteboards. I know they exist in old textbooks and railway atlases, but I need something that is easy for teachers to access.
I have Googled but am struggling!
Any ideas?
