Researcher in Web Mining
38 hours per week
University of Amsterdam

In the framework of the IOP-MMI programme of the Dutch Ministry of
Economic Affairs, an 18-month project has been approved for research on
web mining for design patterns. The project is a collaboration between
the UvA (hcs.science.uva.nl), the Institute for Information Engineering
(Hogeschool van Amsterdam) and UNET. The project team will consist of
two researchers and be based at the UvA.

The researcher will develop and apply machine learning algorithms to
discover general patterns that characterize a group of websites (e.g.
for a particular type of business) and the behaviour of users who visit
a site. These patterns will be used to provide advice concerning the
design and improvement of a new website.

Required:
* A good understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning and
Web applications * Some experience with research.
