For museum, library and archive practitioners who are
establishing or improving rights management procedures and/or seeking an
introduction to the principles of copyright within the context of caring for
and interpreting collections.
This is the first of three copyright training events we will
be running. You may book each course as a stand-alone training course or a
combination of the three.
This hands-on practical one day training course provides an
introduction to copyright and its importance within the context of caring for
collections. Participants will be introduced to the tools they need to manage
copyright as part of their daily work within the context of museums, galleries
and other cultural heritage organisations. The day will also examine in detail
how rights can be cleared, the role of copyright audits, tips for tracing
rights holders, due diligence and the management and protection of rights
within the context of digitisation and publishing projects.
By the end of the course participants will have:
Delivered by Naomi Korn, MDA.
The other two courses in this series are Copyright and the
Web (31st January 2008) and Copyright: Exploitation (6th
March 2008). Please see the Training and Events section of our website
