i think the facebook idea was a suggestion in
response to someone who felt the group was a bit quiet- but longer-term members
will know that it is occasionally very busy, often lively and sometimes silent
for a few days here, a few days there; this to an extent probably reflects
academic timetabling, and right now it is a bit quiet- many academics will be
marking their students' coursework etc right now
i don't think the Facebook thing was ever being
seen as a replacement to the group, or as compluslory for anyone here to
join
or indeed seen as anything affiliated or in any way
linked
anyone who works for the jsm on the editorial side
or moderating the group here is already time-stretched in any case, and is
unlikely to be able to sepnd time moderating a facebook too
so whoever wishse to can fill your boots with
starting up a group, and can i suggest it would be ok if it was advertised here.
Once.
and it should not have "Journal for the academic
study of magic" in the title of the group please, or any such indication that it
is endorsed by the JSM, as it will not be
