Clinical Research Associate

Applications are invited for a suitably qualified clinician to take part in a research programme investigating attention and spatial neglect following stroke. The aim is to improve understanding of the cognitive processes underlying the neglect syndrome, and their neuromodulation. The post will provide experience in developing and using novel behavioural and imaging techniques, and may extend to neuropharmacological proof-of-concept studies. It would be ideal for an applicant interested in a career in cognitive neurology.

Applicants should hold GMC registration and ideally have MRCP (or equivalent), previous experience in Neurology as an SHO or equivalent, and be intending to pursue a career in clinical neurology. The appointee will be expected to undertake a higher degree, and will have excellent training opportunities to broaden clinical and research skills. The appointment is available immediately and is funded for the period to 31st October 2010.
Starting salary on the Clinical Academic (Specialist Registrar equivalent) scale in the range: £31,936 - £41,779 p.a. inclusive, superannuable.
