medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Dear all

My book, 'Cathedral: the great English cathedrals and the world that made
them' is being launched in London, England on 23 October. During this
enormously time-consuming three-year project, you have collectively been a
tremendous source of support: occasionally for the bouncing-off of specific
questions, but more often simply as a kind of e-photocopier/corridor/common
room were the solitary medievallist could find others willing to stop and
talk about the same thing, or listen silently to fascinating conversations.

You are, as a list, thanked in the Acknowledgements to my book (one or two
of you may have managed an individual citation, too)!; and with the
publisher's support I would like to extend an invitation to you to attend
the launch.

The venue is the Riverside Bookshop, 18-19 Hay’s Galleria, Tooley Street,
London SE1 and the event takes place from 6-8pm on 23 October 2007.

You are all very welcome! It would be nice to turn some of you into actual
human beings...

If you are able to make it, an RSVP to Georgie Askew of Constable & Robinson
(020 8741 [log in to unmask]) would be appreciated. If not,
can I repeat my collective thanks to the list, and I look forward to more
M-R discussions and discoveries in future.

Jon Cannon
