INTRODUCTION TO MANAGEMENT SKILLS
28 & 29 November 2007, London

A two-day practical introduction to the main areas of management, relevant to library and information work, with emphasis on managing oneself and others. 

BENEFITS OF ATTENDING
This course will help participants to: 
* build on their strengths and understand their weaknesses as a manager
* raise awareness of their own and others' behaviour to improve communication in management
* enhance their practical management skills - motivation, leadership, team working and personal skills (including assertiveness)
* share ideas and experiences with others at a similar level 

All sessions require a high level of involvement and participation. 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? 
Participants should have at least one year's experience at professional level in an information-based job or some years of general work experience.

Sheila is a consultant in the behavioural sciences applied to work. A chartered librarian, she works in the public and private sectors in the UK and overseas, specialising in the development of management skills.
