Management BriefingsAslib is running a series of management briefings, exploring some of the issues that today's library/ information service manager faces. These briefings will provide an opportunity to hear ideas from an expert and discuss these as well as network in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. The first of these is:
Managing Information Services in takeovers/mergers (31 October 2007)This session will give managers more confidence to cope with the impact of major changes in their organisation’s governance. It will look at practical ways in which they can keep a high profile in change management, while understanding the need to lead, motivate and communicate. There will be a chance to share learning from real experiences of takeovers and mergers in the public and private sectors, and gather some tips and techniques for dealing with change of this magnitude.
Briefing Director: Gwenda Sippings. Gwenda Sippings has extensive experience of operating at senior management levels, most recently in Central Government at HM Revenue and Customs, and in the global law firm Clifford Chance. She has delivered transformation through better information and knowledge management in major and complex organisations in the private and public sector.
