Richard, have people here properly understood your original query?  
You're looking for a very particular form of 'direct address' aren't  
you, where fictional characters undergo mock 'interviews' (with  
reporters, analysts, and the like)? If so, there are dozens of  
examples (although - I'm confused, myself, by now!) not all involve  
'looking down the barrel of the camera'. For instance - HUSBANDS AND  
WIVES by Woody Allen.
