Hi Eugene,

I employed Bakhtin's 'chronotope' (and Buttimer's translation of lebenswelt) in my PhD thesis 'Lifeworlds: Literary Geographies in 1930s Ireland (2006) A copy can be found in Trinity College Dublin's library, in addition to the Holloway and Kneale article mentioned by David and (more accessible than my thesis) are the following titles:

Subject: Geographical work on Bakhtin's notion of 'chronotope'?

Dear list members,

A colleague of mine here at SFU who works in cultural studies and
communications asked me if any geographers have engaged with
Bakhtin's notion of 'chronotope.' I haven't been able to help her,
but I wondered if anyone could give me some pointers? Are there
geographical works out there on the concept, or employing it in a
study, or engaging in a critique of it?

Thanks,
Eugene
