 12:30   Registration and Lunch. Arrive early to view the Equiano exhibition
in the Gas Hall.

 1:15    Introduction to the Equiano project. Francesca Davies Exhibitions

 1:30  ‘Dismantling Slavery: The Apprentice System in the Caribbean.’  
Professor Gad Heuman (Warwick University).     
                                             
2:30   ‘The British West India Lobby and the Defence of the Slave Trade.’
Ian Barrett (Kings College, London).

3:15   Tea and coffee break.

3:30   ‘Remembering “Black Britain”: Historiography and Historical Fiction.’
   Dr Dave Gunning (University of Leeds).

4:15   ‘Dictators, National Parks and Conservation: The Politics of the
Environmental in the Dominician Republic since 1492.’   George Holmes
(University of Manchester).
