The evening will also commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Act of Abolition of Slavery in the UK, and as a legacy the formation of the Black British Classical Foundation Awards. An annual competition similar to that of the Cardiff Singer of the World, to profile and highlight the best of Black British operatic talent.
