Medical Statistician
Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre

The Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) is part of the 
Cancer Institute at University College London. The CTC is involved in the 
design, conduct and analysis of multi-centre national and international 
clinical phase II and III trials in a variety of cancers, mainly 
evaluating new treatments. We have a vacancy for an experienced medical 
statistician, preferably with a background in clinical trials. The vacancy 
will provide a valuable opportunity to make an important contribution to 
cancer research.

The post-holder is expected to take the statistical lead on several 
trials. He/she will link with one or more tumour groups and contribute to 
the design of new trials, work closely with clinical investigators and CTC 
staff when applying for grant funding, have responsibility for the 
statistical analyses plan, interim reports and final analyses, and help 
write papers for publication with investigators. The post-holder will also 
be able to develop their own research interests and contribute to 
postgraduate teaching. 

We are looking for a post-graduate (M.Sc. or above) in Medical Statistics 
or related subject with practical experience in clinical trials and/or 
epidemiological studies. Knowledge of statistical methods of design and 
analysis in medical research are essential. 

Salary: £36,351 to £42,907 (Grade 8), including London weighting.

The post is funded by Cancer Research UK on a core programme grant, and 
employed through UCL.
