Nomination of Paul Shrivastava for AACORN membership

Paul Shrivastava holds the Howard I. Scott Chair in Management at Bucknell University. He has co-founded and managed several private companies and non-profit organizations. He has published 13 books and over 100 articles in professional journals on strategic management, crisis management and environmental sustainability. He is now focused on understanding "managing with passion". He is passionate about organizational aesthetic. This is expressed in his holistic mind, body, and emotional engagement of beauty in organizations. He uses embodied ways of learning by including physically and emotionally challenging activities including triathlons and dance into his classes. He is working on a project on Argentine Tango as a metaphor for managing and organizing. He uses Tango dance and culture to teach about leadership, teamwork, simplicity, improvisation, focus, balance, community building, communication, mutual respect, all of which are critical for success in organizations. He studies and collects tango music from around the world. For the past few years he has studied Argentine Tango dancing with Sharon Hillman, Lori Coyle, Gustavo Naviera, Gustavo Benzecry-Saba, Pablo Neivas and Valeria Zunzoni, Pablo Inza and Moira, Osvaldo and Coca, and many other fine teachers. He does a radio show on WVBU (wednesdays 12-1PM, 90.5FM Lewisburg, PA, web cast on wvbu.com) on World Tango music and DJ’s local Milongas.

Best regards,

Charles
