The Department of Neurosurgery and Neurology at Thomas Jefferson
University/Jefferson Medical College announces a Two-Year Postdoctoral
Residency in Neuroimaging and Clinical Neuropsychology.  

 

The position available is part of team investigating changes in the neural
organization of cognitive skills in epilepsy patients. Projects utilize
techniques such as depth electrode brain stimulation and functional magnetic
resonance imaging to study reorganization of cognitive functions in pre- and
post- surgery epilepsy patients as part of NIH funded research.  Position
will require administering neuropsychological tests, preparing brain
stimulation and functional imaging experiments, administering imaging
studies, conducting appropriate post-processing and statistical analyses
using software such as SPM '05, and preparing results for
publication/presentation. Prior skills in brain image processing are
preferred. The position will provide experience in working with a variety of
neurologically-impaired patients, most notably epilepsy, as well as provide
involvement in a variety of neurosurgical procedures. The position allows
participation in the didactics available in the Departments of Neurology and
Neurosurgery, and the Neuropsychology Division.  Applicants must have a
Doctoral degree in a relevant field and completed dissertation prior to
starting the fellowship. Interested applicants should send a cover letter
