Down here in Wiltshire we have a corporate Retention Schedule but no
separate Retention policy. All policy issues are referred to in the
front of the schedule which I suppose could be separated out in to
another document if you really wanted to.

Subject: FW: s 46 code - question re disposal policies and schedules

Hi,

S 46 Code of Practice is currently being re-drafted by Susan Healy.
Susan has asked me the question below and I wondered if the list can
contribute. At LCC we have a policy and schedules. I wondered if this
was the norm or an exception. I think that most will have, or are
planning to develop a policy/schedule. Perhaps you could respond to me
off list and I will anonymise and post to the list/Susan.
Alternatively, you could contact Susan direct.

The question is do you (as a local authority) have an overall policy re
disposal/selection as well as schedules?

Regards
