Backstage Library Works (BSLW) presents Authority Control Thursday, October 4, 2007 CILIP, London
An introductory seminar for academic, special, school and public library staff interested in learning more about automated authority control: the standardization of headings in bibliographic records using programming and machine processes. The presentation will include an overview of the BSLW authority control process; "before" and "after" examples of name, subject, and series headings; issues specific to authority work in the UK; and a Question/Answer session for individual discussion.
There is no charge for attendance. Two sessions are available, either 9:00am-11:00am or 2:00pm-4:00pm.
