Hello!
I have recently requested a few articles from the Lis- lists
either as a last resort when we haven’t been able to access them
elsewhere or when an article has been needed urgently. This service and peoples
generosity in providing these articles has been invaluable both to our library
and our service users. From the ILL requests that I have seen and/or responded
to I realise that articles are usually only requested when people have tried
all other avenues to get it before contacting the list.
Are there any guidelines as to how to reimburse the supplier
of the article on the Lis- lists? Or is it done as a goodwill gesture with the
understanding that if you are willing to supply the article you contact the
requester and if you are not, you do not respond at all?
I would be happy to summarise any replies to the lists if
people are interested.
Many thanks,
Amber
