Introduction to Fundraising

Date: Thursday 27th September 2007

Time: 9.30am to 4.30pm

Venue: Association of Anaesthetists, 21 Portland Place, London W1B 1PY

This event is for practitioners in museums, libraries, or archives who are new to fundraising or are considering a more strategic approach to fundraising.

Fundraising is about communicating a beneficial idea to someone who has the means to make it happen.

Delivered by Hopkins Van Mil: Creative Connections, this day aims to provide you with ideas on how to fundraise, what to fundraise for and the funding opportunities available. This session is of particular interest for those who have had very little or no training on fundraising

before and are keen to develop a sustainable approach to bringing in the monies our organisations need so badly.

You will learn to work in the context of a targeted fundraising strategy to maximise the effect of tailored funding applications. We will look at grant giving trusts and foundations, sponsorship, individual giving and donations. To assist your future fundraising experiences the day includes lots of practical exercises and opportunities to learn from other delegates.

Cost: £75 for participants from the 33 London Boroughs; £90 for participants from outside of London. One place for a volunteer member of staff at £37.50 (London only)
