Thank you Faye
Our dyslexia support is pro-active; we do
not ‘tell students how to access support’ and wait for them to come…our
tutors maintain contact with students and ensure that regular support sessions
are provided. We do not feel that we are qualified to judge whether or
not individuals should have one-to-one support; if it has been recommended we
provide it. Since some of our students are profoundly dyslexic they do
require help throughout their courses to ‘sustain them’. That
does not mean that we are failing to help them to ‘assist themselves’;
it is a tacit recognition that such help (for some) needs to be on-going.
