Hi,

The problem may be related to a file that CCP4 use to extract the necessary fonts to display the CCP4 contents. That file is not available when you upgrade the operating system from FC5 to FC6 or FC7 (It upgraded to a higher version).

The file is libstdc++.so.5 (or a similar version like libstdc++.so.5.0.7) which can be found in usr/lib/ directory. To the best of my knowledge CCP4 program version 6.0.2 needs that file to be in version 5 (or it should contain the necessary fonts).

The easiest way to solve the problem is to copy that file (or its nearest version to 5) from older version of Fedora core and copy it to the new FC6 or FC7 usr/lib directory and rename it as libstdc++.so.5 (you need to login as root in order to be able to paste the file into usr/lib/ folder).

After copying the file, run the BINARY.setup from CCP4 folder (better to login as a user who installed the CCP4) and then run the CCP4 program. If all the other installation files are OK, the problem should be fixed.
