Assistant Archivist £23,300 - £29,300 per annum The National Gallery Archive preserves records created by the Gallery from its foundation in 1824 until the present day. The Archive is also responsible for records management in the Gallery. You will provide professional support in maintaining and developing the Archive, and the Gallery’s records management programme. You will be involved in a wide variety of tasks, including archival arrangement and description, conservation and preservation, reader services and records management. A first degree and a recognised MA/Diploma in Archive Administration/Records Management or equivalent qualification, as well as a thorough knowledge of archival and records management principles are essential. You should also be flexible and have an awareness of current issues in archives and records management. Some knowledge of British 19th and 20th century history would be advantageous, as would an interest in museums and art history. Closing date: 17 September 2007.
