Following significant expansion over the past five years, the Department of Information Studies is now the UK's largest provider of postgraduate training in Archive Administration and Records Management through its combination of full-time and distance-learning provision. Records Management is seen as a prime area for future growth and the Department is seeking an innovative and dynamic individual who will lead, develop and market programmes in this area.

 

Applicants should have a postgraduate qualification in Archive Administration and/or Records Management, at least at Masters' level, and strong experience of records/information management service delivery. You will ideally have established research interests, potentially with a record of published research in appropriate outlets. Grade on which appointment is made dependent on qualifications and experience.

Lecturer in Archives Administration/Records Management

Grade on which appointment is made dependent on qualifications and experience.

 

Applicants should have a postgraduate qualification in Archive Administration and/or Records Management, at least at Masters’ level, and strong experience of records / information management service delivery.  The successful candidate will ideally have established research interests, potentially with a record of published research in appropriate outlets, in one or more of the following areas:

·         Modern records / information management

·         EDRM Systems / Electronic cataloguing systems

·         Digital preservation

·         Digitisation / networking projects

 

The successful applicant will contribute to the teaching of the Department’s:

·         MSc Econ / Diploma / Certificate in Records Management

·         MSc Econ / Diploma in Archive Administration

·         Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in Information and Library Studies

 

In addition to teaching, the post will involve administrative duties, student supervision and support.
