A colleague took the photo at http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~biol8/Borg_barley_detail.jpg on Lofoten in N Norway this summer and wonders if the type of barley can be determined? It was being grown experimentally, apparently, but without adequate documentation. Any suggestions?
