Dear Colleagues,

I was wondering whether you would be willing to share how your
laboratories request glucose tests.

Do you have a separate fasting glucose and random glucose request codes?

If so - do your phlebotomists check the patient is fasting (do
they indicate this anywhere?).. Or do you leave it to the requestor to
explain this to the patient and assume this was adequate?

Or do you just request "glucose" and let the requestor decide/fathom out
whether the patient was fasting or not?
If so - how do your requestors - particularly your GP's - feel
about this system?

Many thanks

Katy
